About Vibe Typer

Vibe Typer is an AI dictation app built in Australia. It works on Linux, Windows, Mac and iPhone, types clean text at the cursor in any app, transcribes 99 languages, and stores no audio or transcripts. On Linux it runs natively on both Wayland and X11, and on iPhone it is a dictation keyboard on the App Store. You hold a hotkey, talk, and clean text lands wherever your cursor already is. There is no window to copy out of and no per-app setup.

It is free to start: 2,000 transcribed words and 20 AI operations a month, no card. Pro is $8 a month billed annually, or $10 a month month-to-month, and removes both limits. Dictation works in 99 languages. Transcription runs in the cloud on large speech models, so it is as fast and accurate on an old laptop as on a workstation. Audio is processed in memory on our servers and never stored.

Who builds it

Vibe Typer is built by Futsy, its founder. It is a small independent Australian business, so support replies come from the founder himself.

Where a page reports numbers from a real deployment, like the Fraser Street Medical case study, those numbers came from that site rather than from a model.

Why it exists

Voice typing on Linux was bad. Most tools skipped it outright or only worked under X11, and the ones that ran dumped an unpunctuated wall of text you then cleaned up by hand. Vibe Typer runs natively on Wayland and X11 and types into any app, terminals included. The Linux and Windows apps shipped together in July 2025, since the same problem exists on Windows in a milder form. macOS followed in March 2026, and the iPhone keyboard reached the App Store in September 2026.

The part that took the longest is what happens after the audio. Magic Formatter takes how people actually speak, with the backtracking and the false starts and the "no wait, scratch that", and resolves it into the sentence you meant. That is the difference between transcription and typing.

What happens to your audio

Audio is sent to our servers, held in memory for as long as it takes to transcribe, then dropped. Recordings are not written to disk, not kept after the transcript is returned, and never sold or used to train models. The Privacy Policy is the binding version of that.
